  1. Paste your destinationUse the actual page people should reach. Existing non-UTM parameters and its fragment stay in the link.
  2. Give it consistent labelsSet source, medium and campaign. Optional content can identify the group or creative.
  3. Copy and measure separatelyUse the generated link in your post. Your destination’s analytics handles measurement and consent.

Build your campaign link

Required: destination, source, medium and campaign. Existing values of these five UTM parameters are replaced; blank optional labels are removed.

HTTP(S) only. Do not paste a URL containing a username or password.
Where the link is shared. Use a consistent convention; values are case-sensitive.
The channel category used in your reporting.
The initiative this post belongs to.
Distinguish a group, post or creative without including personal data.
Use only if your own reporting needs an additional label.

Your inputs stay in the tool. They are processed in this page and are not sent by the tool. The site’s normal analytics and consent rules still apply. The tool does not save your work; copy or download before leaving.

A labeling convention you can reuse

Use a stable source such as facebook, a medium your reporting understands such as social, and one campaign name across a specific promotion. Content can distinguish a group or creative. Keep names consistent so one campaign does not split into several spellings.

Do not put names, email addresses, phone numbers or private customer information into UTM labels. A URL can appear in browser history, shared posts, server logs and analytics reports. Check the generated destination before sharing it.

Illustrative example

For a bakery’s market announcement: source facebook, medium social, campaign saturday_market, content riverside_group. The resulting link includes utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=saturday_market&utm_content=riverside_group.

The sample destination uses example.com. Replace it with your real page before posting.

Common questions

Does this track clicks or leads?

No. It adds labels to a link. Your destination’s analytics must be configured to read them, and its consent and attribution limitations still apply.

What happens to existing URL parameters?

The tool preserves non-UTM query parameters and the fragment. It replaces utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign, and replaces or removes the optional utm_content and utm_term values.

Does changing a UTM label change the landing page?

Usually the same page loads, but your own site may use query parameters to change behavior. Open the generated link and check the destination before sharing it.

Your next step

Connect tracked visits to a campaign

A tagged visit is a measurement point, not a confirmed enquiry or sale. Assign someone to review replies and recorded outcomes.
